Welcome to the LPC Design Shop, the design agency run by Las Positas Design Students. The following information will familiarize you with the design shop, our processes, and what you might expect from our fabulous student designers.

What is the Design Shop?

The Design Shop is a course modeled after a design agency to let the students experience first-hand the many different roles and responsibilities that occur within a real agency. Students play different roles to learn to work independently, as a team, and with clients.

What is the Design Shop Process?

Please expect 4–6 weeks process from the initial client meeting to final delivery of the project. While we makes every effort to accomodate client needs, the class does meet only twice a week.

This is a learning experience for students and rushed projects are not ideal. Clients are requested to be able to attend two face-to-face meetings, the initial project meeting and the first round presentation. A design request generally follows the process outlined below.

  • Initial meeting: Creative Brief, Contract.
  • Design, Internal review and approval
  • Presentation to Client
  • Changes (2 rounds)
  • Client Approval
  • Production and delivery
  • Archive / Feedback / Post mortum
